Meta search engines are internet search tools that use meta tags in order to help people find information on a person or subject. Meta tags are also referred to as search engine optimization, or SEO, tags. When people or companies create a website, they are often given a list of keywords to choose from, or they are asked to come up with keywords. These are the words or phrases that people are most likely to type in when they are searching for the site. This way, even if customers can’t always remember the name of your site, they will still know where to find you, and can save your site in their ‘favorites’ so that they can continue referring to you for the products and services that they need.

This means you may have to do some background work before you get on the internet. Pictures of the relatives you’re searching for will also prove to be very helpful in your search. If you have a recent photo of the person, you may be able to locate them using social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace.

Study the meta search engines that are already installed on your computer to get a better understanding of how this software works. Some of the most popular search engines include those from Google and Yahoo. All you’ll need to do is type in the name or phrase you want more information about, and sort through the results that pop up. The first three or four results will most likely be the ones that will prove to be more helpful, but you may want to search through all the pages that come up for any additional information that you may find helpful.
